Welcome to Abruzzo Property

With the real estate markets in Tuscany and Umbria having reached saturation point, foreign property buyers looking for newer pastures would do well to consider the up and coming Abruzzo Region. Recent budget airline flights to the local airport of Pescara from Stansted in the UK have made this the perfect choice for any investor looking for an affordable second home abroad.

The Abruzzo Region of Italy, which borders with Marche, Lazio, Molise and the Adriatic Sea, was originally part of the Abruzzi & Molise region until 1963.

Abruzzo is sometimes still known by its obsolete plural form of gli Abruzzi. This refers back to the time when Abruzzo was administered by the Bourbons as two territories - Abruzzo Citeriore and Abruzzo Ulteriore.

The administrative capital of the region is L'Aquila, which also gives its name to the largest of the four provinces of the region and is famous for its excellent ski slopes and mountain resorts - the Gran Sasso is the highest peak in the Appennines. Of the three remaining provinces, Chieti has the highest population, Pescara with its busy port is the main economic centre, whilst Teramo in the north of the region, attracts visitors from all over the world with its summer calendar of international cultural events such as the Teramo Literary Prize and the Interamnia Handball Cup, an international event with athletes coming from all over the world.
